🏝️ Discovering Hamaya: A Beloved Okinawa Soba Spot in Chatan ✨
🌟 What is Hamaya?
Hamaya is a long-standing soba restaurant in Chatan that’s loved by locals, divers, and tourists alike 😊. It’s one of my personal favorites—I’ve been there many times and it never disappoints!
🏖️ The Charm of Chatan & Vibe at Hamaya
Located near the popular American Village, Chatan is a hub for international travelers🛵. Hamaya naturally attracts many visitors from overseas.
Each February, the area also becomes lively with Japanese pro baseball teams holding spring training nearby ⚾. Inside the restaurant, you’ll spot autographs from players and even some celebrities!
🍜 Must-Try Dishes
The broth at Hamaya is rich and flavorful, made from a combination of pork and chicken bones 🐔🐷.
Their signature soft bone pork ribs (nankotsu soki) are slow-cooked until tender and practically melt in your mouth 🤤. Even seniors can enjoy them easily thanks to the soft texture 🎉
Another local favorite is the tebichi soba 🍲—loaded with collagen-rich pork feet that are irresistibly jiggly and satisfying 😍.
🏠 Restaurant Look & Nearby Stroll Spots
The exterior of Hamaya screams “Okinawa vibes”—it’s hard to miss with its traditional design 🏠🌺.
After your meal, take a leisurely walk along the nearby coastline and soak in the beautiful nature of Chatan 🌊🚶♂️.
